How to live life more adventurously

September 30, 2016 By: Margauxcomment

How to live life more adventurously with Sean Conway

Following his record breaking 4,000 mile triathlon around the UK, extreme adventurer Sean Conway hit screens recently in a three part documentary on NOWTV (check it out if you missed it — it’s well worth a watch!) Now Sean — also the first person to swim the length of Great Britain along the west coast — has teamed up with Mexicana® cheese to help the nation add a little adventure to their everyday lives.

How to live life more adventurously with Sean ConwaySean is quite an expert in the subject, having sold his thriving business at the age of 30 for just £1 to embark on a life a little different! The following years have seen him break several world records, culminating in his 85 day World’s Longest Triathlon where he circumnavigated the entire coast of mainland Britain on foot, by bike and finally with two intensive weeks of swimming.

Don’t worry, you don’t need to do anything as crazy and extreme as Sean, there are loads of easy, fun and exciting ways to add a little adventure to your life. Check out his video and top tips…

Tip 1: Be inquisitive!

This means thinking outside the box! Go on that weekend trip you’ve been meaning to do for a while or book a holiday to somewhere you’ve never been, but always wanted to go to. Get exploring! Investigate new places on a walk or hike — you may be surprised how refreshing somewhere new may be.

Tip 2: Forget your fear

It’s natural to fear the unknown but often this stops us from doing things we want to do most. Sean once decided to swim the length of Britain having only swum a short distance before! We’re not saying do anything that extreme, but why not find your challenge and say yes to it?

Starting small is best – take up a new hobby or sport, or learn to cook something new and exciting! Check out the Mexicana website for some great recipe inspiration to get you going.

Tip 4: Always be prepared, and be prepared to be resourceful

There’s no reason why you can’t go on a spontaneous adventure — don’t let anything hold you back. Keep a bag of essentials ready to go and be resourceful with exactly what you need — be honest with yourself about whether you really need it!

Tip 5: Make the most of every moment

Don’t know where to go this weekend? Look at a map, find somewhere you’ve never been before and get going on a new adventure!

I know Sean is a chap and I like to focus on women on this blog, but I just loved his cheeky, fun and cheerful approach to life and thought you’d enjoy reading about him!
